What's New for the 2022 Mazda CX-5?

Several tweaks have been made to the Mazda CX-5 to make it even better in 2022. This year, all models come standard with all-wheel drive. The experience at the wheel can be customized thanks to drive-mod settings. A new Turbo model replaces the outgoing Grand Touring Reserve near the top of the trim ladder for the 2022 Mazda CX-5.

2022 CX-5 Trims & Features

There are five trim levels available for the 2022 Mazda CX-5. For the entry-level Sport, standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and automatic LED headlights. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen are all found in the Sport as well. Higher trim levels add extras, such as heated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. Inside the 2022 Mazda CX-5 Signature trim level, drivers will find luxurious Nappa leather upholstery.

2022 Mazda CX-5 Horsepower

Coming standard for the 2022 CX-5 is a 187-horsepower four-cylinder engine. Select models turbocharge this engine, allowing them to create 250-horsepower instead. A six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive come standard with both engines. This year, the transmission has been tweaked to provide even more responsive and smooth shifting.

Mazda CX-5 Safety

Multiple standard driver aids help to make the Mazda CX-5 a smart choice. Lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection are all standard. Adaptive cruise control is found on all 2022 models as well. Starting with the Grand Touring level, adaptive LED headlights join the list of standard equipment.
