Image: Mazda Partners with AAA and HAAS Alert to Extend Real-Time Vehicle Safety

Mazda already equips its new vehicles with a confidence-inspiring i-Activsense safety suite, which includes valuable driver-assistance features such as Advanced Smart City Brake Support. However, the automaker recently partnered with AAA and HAAS Alert to further protect drivers during roadside emergencies.

When a driver calls or uses the Mazda app to request help, AAA dispatches roadside assistance to the disabled vehicle. However, HAAS Alert's Safety Cloud goes a step further by immediately sending digital "Slow Down, Move Over" warnings to nearby drivers. Approaching motorists will receive the alerts, making them aware of the stranded vehicle ahead of time.

Why Is This Real-Time Digital Communication System So Beneficial

Breaking down along a busy highway can be incredibly dangerous. In fact, research shows that hundreds of crashes involving stopped vehicles occur every year. Fast-moving traffic and the lack of physical protection for stranded motorists create an extremely hazardous environment. Poor visibility due to darkness and rainy weather can make the situation even more dangerous. Even simply getting out to check a flat tire can lead to disaster.

With the arrival of HAAS Alert's Safety Cloud, Mazda drivers will now have an added layer of protection during emergencies. While on the roadside, stranded passengers and AAA service technicians will certainly appreciate the extra peace of mind.
