What's New for the 2021 Mazda CX-5?
The Mazda CX-5 is a sporty option for those who are unwilling to sacrifice for their driving experience. At the same time, it provides plenty of both convenience and practicality. In 2021, a new infotainment system headlines the changes. It runs on a 10.3-inch touchscreen and includes smartphone integration through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
A new Carbon Edition also debuts in 2021. On the outside, it turns heads with Polymetal Gray paint. Inside, there is a striking red upholstery. New features this year include rear automatic emergency braking and a driver attention monitor for the always-luxurious Signature trim.
2021 CX-5 Trims & Features
To help drivers find their perfect fit, Mazda offers the 2021 CX-5 in six trim levels. The Sport model is a great option, coming standard with a Wi-Fi hotspot, HD radio, automatic high beams, and the new 10.3-inch infotainment screen. The CX-5 gains dual rear USB ports and proximity keyless entry when it comes to the Touring model.
The Carbon Edition is not only stylish, but it also adds things like an auto-dimming rearview mirror and universal garage door opener. For features like a moonroof, 7-inch digital instrument display, and power liftgate, buyers will want to look at the Grand Touring. The Grand Touring Reserve further adds heat to the rear seats and ventilation to the front row.
Finally, there is the Signature model. This is where drivers find Nappa leather upholstery. Also added here are things like traffic sign recognition, ambient interior lighting, and genuine wood trim.

2021 Mazda CX-5 Horsepower
A naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine making 187-horsepower comes standard for the 2021 CX-5. If preferred, a turbocharged engine is also available. With regular gasoline, it creates 227-horsepower. Premium fuel brings this number up to 250. To keep the CX-5 moving smoothly, Mazda gives it a six-speed automatic transmission.
Mazda CX-5 Safety
With five out of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it is easy to see that the CX-5 is perfect for families. It comes standard with everything from adaptive cruise control to blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Also included on all trims are nice touches like pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and automatic emergency braking.
