Teachers in low-income communities get to make a festive wish list for items that will enhance students' education. Mazda has agreed to help buy items from these wish lists, an act of generosity that helps both teachers and students. Mazda's contribution is $250,000, and that's going to buy a lot of school supplies for students who really need and deserve them. The overall goal is to help students in challenged communities thrive and get the most out of their education.
Mazda isn't stopping there, though. They're also matching donations of up to $210,000 to help DonorsChoose fund hunger, care, and warmth projects. Many students will receive items that contribute to their safety, security, and nourishment, three things that are vital to growing children. Alix Guerrier, the CEO of DonorsChoose, shares that "During winter, so many teachers go the extra mile to ensure students have what they need, particularly students whose families can't afford food and warm clothes."
