How Often Should I Service My Mazda3?

Servicing your Mazda according to the manufacturer's guidelines is essential. Regular service can help your car's performance, and it can eliminate small problems with your vehicle that may pose more significant hazards if they are not fixed. The Mazda3 maintenance schedule that you should follow is placed in the owner's manual that comes with your car. Mazda3 service intervals start around 15,000 miles. The car will need to be inspected again at 30,000 miles, 60,000 miles, and 90,000 miles to ensure that it stays in prime working condition.

15,000-Mile Service

The Mazda3 will need the least amount of service at 15,000 miles, but it is still important that you take your car in to have it inspected. A mechanic will change the car's oil and replace it with new fluid. The car may also get an engine filter, and it may have the cabin air filter changed. The hinges and locks on the car will be lubricated, and the tires will get rotated. The disc brakes will also be checked if applicable.

30,000-Mile Service

Your Mazda will need some additional services at 30,000 miles. The engine oil will be changed again, and the engine will likely get a replacement filter. The fuel lines and hoses are checked at this point, and the car will have the hinges and locks sufficiently lubricated. The front and rear suspension systems are checked, along with the ball joints, bolts, and nuts on the body and chassis. The Mazda will have its steering operation checked, along with the steering linkages. The driveshaft dust boots get inspected as well.

60,000-Mile Service

When your car reaches 60,000 miles, it will need to have a few more services performed. The engine oil gets changed again at this point. The car may have another engine air filter installed to help clean air move through the fuel lines. The hoses and tubes will get inspected for emissions purposes. The brake lines will be checked, along with the disc brakes. Your car may also be due for a replacement battery at this point. The ball joints will be inspected, along with the front and back axles.

90,000-Mile Service

The Mazda has another specific set of services to be performed at 90,000 miles. The transmission fluid will be replaced, and the car will get its coolant fluid flushed as well. The power steering fluid will also be replaced. The spark plugs will be changed if they have not been already, and the engine valve clearance is inspected.
