Performance

The 2024 CX-5 has a 2.5-liter engine that's constructed on the exclusive SKYACTIV-G mechanical foundation. This compact powertrain produces 185 pound-feet of peak torque and 187 net horsepower. Adopting the SKYACTIV-DRIVE design, a six-speed automatic transmission system is connected to the I-4 engine. Similarly, the 2024 CX-30 extracts up to 191 net hp and 186 lb-ft of torque from this compact powerplant. You'll get the same automatic gearbox on this Mazda crossover SUV. However, the CX-30 boasts the all-new Off-Road Traction Assist technology for the i-ACTIV AWD system. By contrast, such an off-road enhancement isn't available on the CX-5. According to Mazda's engineers, the CX-5 is capable of towing up to 2,000 gross pounds per SAE J2807 compliance. This model wears 11.7-inch front disc brakes and 11.9-inch rear disc brakes. Most CX-30 editions have 11.6-inch front disc brakes and 11.9-inch rear disc brakes. A torsion-beam axle is integrated into the car's rear suspension. The CX-5 gets a multi-link configuration on the rear suspension.

Appearance

The 2024 CX-5 is available with 17-inch aluminum wheels that have a gray finish. Some trims come with 19-inch aluminum wheels in black or silver paint. The 2024 CX-30 comes standard with 16-inch aluminum wheels, which are replaced by 18-inch aluminum wheels on most trims. A matte finish is applied to the crossover SUV's front grille. Some models have a Gloss Black design on the front grille. A Gunmetal finish is available on the CX-5's front grille. This car also offers body-colored accents for the signature rear wing, lower bumper, side rockers, and wheel arches.
