What's New for the 2024 Mazda CX-90?
Compared to the CX-9, the CX-90 features a more premium and muscular appearance. Both vehicles are three-row midsize crossover SUVs, but the third row in the CX-90 is larger. What Are the 2024 CX-90 Trims & Features?
It will come in three trim levels: PHEV, PHEV Premium, and PHEV Premium Plus. Heated front seats, a power sunroof, and leather upholstery in black or "greige," as described by Mazda, are included with the base model. A 12.3-inch digital color instrument panel display and a 10.25-inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are in front of the driver.
A towing function is included in the CX-90 PHEV Premium. The cargo area has a 1,500-watt plug that can power or charge equipment. It has regular seven-passenger seating, captain's chairs in the second row, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system. It also has a bigger, panoramic sunroof, a hands-free power liftgate, and 21-inch machine-cut finish alloy wheels.
The 12.3-inch central display on CX-90 PHEV Premium Plus is larger. It features heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and softer Nappa leather upholstery available in black or white. Passengers in the second row also have heated seats.
How Much Horsepower Does 2024 CX-90 Have?
Two new powertrains are available. The first has a 3.3-liter inline six-cylinder turbocharger with a light hybrid assist. The engine generates 340 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, significantly improving over the CX-9's maximum of 250 horsepower from its turbocharged four-cylinder.
The other 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 323 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque when combined with an electric motor. A 17.8 kWh battery pack powers the electric motor. A new eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard on the CX-90.
What Safety Features Does the 2024 CX-90 Include?
The CX-90 will have a standard rearview camera. Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Blindspot Alert are both standards. The vehicle will also have a standard pre-collision system, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning.
