Mazda recently announced that they would be coming out with a new electric car. They showed a teaser for an electric car, probably with a sports bend. Mazda is expecting to have as many as 40 electric by 2030.
Mazda Plans
Mazda is certainly cautious about its plans, including the plans it will likely have for its EV options, but they are coming along steadily. This is important for them to do if only because many of their competitors are planning on going all-electric by that date, so they will likely have a lot of competition. Mazda said that plenty of electric vehicles would be coming out in the second part of phase two of their plan. They didn't say much about it, however.
Currently, Mazda has just one EV for sale in the U.S. This is just the MX30. It's a coupe and subcontract type that is only available in California. It has a short range for an electric car at only 100 miles. More plans on this car would bump up the content more and add some more features. There isn't much information about names or features as of yet, however.
Instead, the Ceo has talked about the Evs coming into the United States soon. They are apparently working on taking advantage of the Inflation Reduction Act in the United States, which will limit the federal tax credits to Evs built in the United States. If they can meet the requirements properly, they should be able to maximize how much money they can get through the program.
Although Mazda still didn't offer any specifics, it did hint in its announcement that 11 billion dollars were going into various partnerships towards developing EV options along the lines of two different renderings. These included a small sports car with two doors like the Miata. People at this point can only speculate whether this will be fully electric or not.
