2023 Mazda CX-50 Exterior

The CX-50 is the sportiest and most luxurious model in Mazda's lineup. This popular crossover is known for its striking looks, sporty acceleration and handling, and quality interior features. Here are some of its special features:

Year, Make, and Model

The 2023 model adds the more powerful four-cylinder engine and increases towing capacity to 3500 pounds. It also comes with a panoramic sunroof, standard automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar support, and Mazda's new i-ELOOP regenerative braking system.

Based on the CX-5 chassis and using the 2.0-liter Skyactiv engine, Mazda did away with many things that added weight to the vehicle. Many of these items were replaced by lighter materials such as high-strength steel.

Features

The 2023 Mazda CX50 is going to come in four different trim levels that are all equipped with very different features. Your options include the Sport base model, the Touring, Grand Touring, and Signature. The interior design is consistent with the rest of the Mazda line, but the blockier, vertical air vents add a slightly more muscular vibe consistent with the exterior. The interior also features leather seats with Alcantara inserts. A new, more stylish power liftgate is located below the CX-5's liftgate and above the rear bumper.

The exterior design adds elements of sportiness and luxury to a vehicle that did not need any help in that department. The CX-50 shares a similar platform with the CX-30 crossover and the Mazda 3.

Horsepower

The SKYACTIV 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 187-hp or a turbocharged version of that engine, making 256 horsepower. The machine features a DOHC (Dual Over Head Cams) design and electronic throttle control, giving the CX-50 more power for acceleration than previous models. The turbo engine option produces far more muscular acceleration than is typically offered in the compact segment. All models are all-wheel drive with a six-speed manual gearbox, available in automatic and manual shift modes with paddle shifters.

Safety

The CX-50 comes standard with full driver-assistance features, including lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. It contains a standard automated emergency braking designed to reduce or even eliminate a collision, which an optional available forward-facing camera system can activate.

Like all other models, it has safety airbags like front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, front and rear head protection curtains, side torso airbags in the rear seats, and knee airbags.
