Specs at a Glance

The Mazda CX-5 is the perfect SUV for busy families seeking luxury and capability in a sleek package. To help drivers find their ideal fit, Mazda offers the vehicle in many different trim levels. Many people find that they get all of the features they need from the entry-level Sport trim. Others may find that they are drawn to the brand-new Carbon Edition.

Performance

Powering the Sport model is a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that produces 187-horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, along with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Carbon Edition also comes standard with this setup. Both also come standard with front-wheel drive, however AWD with Off-road Traction Assist is available for either trim you choose.

Appearance

Both the CX-5 Sport and the CX-5 Carbon Edition have a commanding presence. Exterior highlights include daytime running lights and LED headlights. While the Sport trim shows off body-colored side mirrors, the Carbon Edition opts for black ones instead. Both come with LED turn signal integration.

The side mirrors are not the only black accent found on the CX-5 Carbon Edition. This model also has a unique black front grille and a black finish for the 19-inch alloy wheels. The Carbon Edition also comes in an exclusive color, known as Polymetal Gray Metallic.

Features

The base Sport model has an excellent array of features, including a 10.2-inch touchscreen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, smartphone integration, and a push-button start. Driver aids are also included, such as blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.

For those who choose the Carbon Edition, the CX-5 comes standard with leather upholstery and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. A sunroof is included for letting in the fresh air, and the standard power liftgate makes loading this SUV an easy task. The whole family can enjoy listening to music on the 10-speaker Bose audio system.
